Knee pain, paced to the knee you have today.
I started in sports physical therapy, and knees have been part of my practice from the beginning. Whether it is a ski injury, a surgery or a knee that aches on every descent, you get a plan paced to your healing and your life.

02
How I treat it
I evaluate the knee and everything that loads it: the hip above, the foot and ankle below, and how you squat, step and land. Treatment is hands on, with manual therapy, soft tissue work, and strength and control progressed to what you need to get back to.
After surgery, I work with your surgeon’s protocol. When your feet are part of the problem, custom-made orthotics change what travels up to the knee.
03
Your first visit
- 01A 60 to 90 minute evaluation: your history, how the pain started, what makes it better and worse, and a hands-on assessment of how you move.
- 02Treatment the same day, so you leave with less pain and a clear understanding of what is going on.
- 03A plan built around what matters to you, with a home program you can actually do.
Questions
Good to know.
Do you do rehab after ACL surgery?
Yes. ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair are part of my practice, with rehab paced to your healing and the demands of your sport or work.
Why does my knee hurt going downhill?
Descents load the front of the knee heavily. Pain there often points to patellofemoral pain, and strength, control and foot support can all help. Your evaluation will tell us what is driving it.
Can I see you by telehealth after a joint replacement?
Yes. I see patients in the clinic and by secure video. Ask me how telehealth reduces hospital readmission for rural Americans who have undergone total joint surgeries.
Do I need a referral?
No. Montana allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can call me directly. It is always wise to check whether your specific insurance requires a physician referral for reimbursement.
How do I make an appointment?
Call or text (406) 871-1751, or email tami.ellis@protonmail.com. Tell me a little about what is going on and when you are free. Visits are by appointment only.
