Blue MountainPhysical Therapy & Orthotics

Back to the trail, the ski hill and the lake.

I started in sports physical therapy, treating amateur to professional athletes in a large sports medicine clinic in Calgary. Weekend warrior or competitor, you get a plan built for how you train.

Sports medicine roots

For many years I worked alongside physicians, surgeons and a large team of physical therapists, treating athletes of every discipline. That is where I learned to read a body that has to perform, and to pace a return so the injury does not come back.

02

What I see

  • Knee: ACL injury and reconstruction, meniscal injuries and surgical repair, iliotibial band friction syndrome, jumper’s knee, patellofemoral pain and patellar dislocation
  • Shoulder: rotator cuff injuries, bursitis, tendonitis, impingement, surgical rehabilitation and dislocation
  • Lower leg and ankle: shin splints, peroneal and tibialis posterior tendonitis, Achilles tendonitis, ankle sprains
  • Foot: plantar fasciitis, heel pain, metatarsal pain and overuse problems helped by custom-made orthotics
  • Hip and pelvis: sacroiliac dysfunction, bursitis, hip impingement, tendonitis and surgical rehabilitation
  • Elbow and wrist: tendonitis, sprains and strains

How I get you back

  1. 01A 60 to 90 minute evaluation of the injury and of how you move in your sport.
  2. 02Hands-on treatment, and acupuncture or Gunn IMS where it fits, to settle pain and restore motion.
  3. 03Strength and control, progressed to the demands of your sport.
  4. 04A clear return plan, and orthotics if your feet are part of the story.

04

Female athletes

I have a special interest in female athletes. Women who train hard deserve care that takes their training, their bodies and their seasons seriously.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need a referral after a sports injury?

No. Montana allows direct access to physical therapy. If you have had surgery, I will work with your surgeon’s protocol.

Do you treat after ACL reconstruction?

Yes. ACL reconstruction and meniscal injuries are part of my practice, with rehab paced to your healing and your sport.

I am not an athlete. Is this for me?

Yes. If you hike, ski, paddle, garden or work hard, you move like an athlete and recover like one.
